ECHLO is the artistic practice of Chloe Charles, an award-winning vocalist and composer working across immersive performance, film, and sound. Her work moves between orchestral composition, electronic music, cinema, and live environments, often dissolving the boundary between stage and audience.
Originally emerging as a touring singer-songwriter, she performed internationally across Europe and North America, with appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, the Apollo Theatre, and the London Jazz Festival. Her music has been featured on BBC Radio 4, CBC, France Inter, and in Netflix’s Elite.
Her practice has since shifted toward multidisciplinary work, combining composition, film, spatial audio, and performance. Her piece Gluttony, originally commissioned by Soundstreams, has evolved into a multi-form body of work spanning orchestral recording, short film, VR, and live immersive performance.
Working across disciplines, she collaborates with artists in choreography, digital image-making, and sound design to build environments that are felt as much as they are heard. Across all forms, the voice remains central — not only as an instrument, but as a physical and psychological presence.
